Nine
Central Maryland home remodeling companies have been named by
the Maryland Improvement Contractors Association (MICA) to be
recognized for outstanding projects completed in 2002. MICA
will present its annual Remodeler of the Year Awards on November
20th in ceremonies at the Center Club in Baltimore.
The nine companies captured 18 awards in 13 categories of competition.

Topping
this year's list of award recipients is American Contracting
Services of Jarrettsville, MD. The company will receive MICA's
first place award in the "Residential Kitchen $25,000-$50,000",
"Residential Interior Under $25,000" and "Residential
Exterior Over $50,000" categories. It will also receive
the second place Award of Merit in the "Residential Bath
Under $25,000" category.
Close behind American Contracting Services are ARDO Contracting
of Columbia, MD and Welsh Construction and Remodeling of Baltimore.
Each will be presented three Remodeler of the Year awards.
ARDO will receive the first place honors for projects in the
"Residential Kitchen Over $50,000", "Residential
Speciality", and "Entire House" (tie) categories.
Welsh Construction and Remodeling will be saluted in the "Residential
Bath Under $25,000", "Residential Bath Over $25,000"
and "Commercial Project" competition.
A new entry in the MICA awards competition, Touse Remodeling
of Columbia, MD, earned two of MICA's Remodeler of the Year
honors. The company will be presented the awards in the "Residential
Interior Over $25,000" and "Entire House" (tie)
categories.
Other home improvement companies being presented awards by MICA
include: Kitchen Savers of Baltimore which will receive a first
place award in the "Residential Kitchens Under $25,000"
category, Bel Air Construction of Bel Air, MD which will receive
the Award of Merit in the "Residential Kitchen Over $50,000"
and "Residential Interior Over $25,000" categories,
and BGE Home which will be presented the Remodeler of the Year
in the "Residential Exterior under $50,000" category.
Also to be honored will be ADR Builders of Timonium which earned
the Award of Merit in the "Residential Exterior Over $50,000"
category and Associated Exteriors of Baltimore which earned
an Award of Merit in MICA's "Residential Historical"
competition.
MICA is a non-profit trade association representing the interest
of licensed home improvement contractors in Maryland. It has
been presenting its Remodeler of the Year Award for nearly 30
years. Winners will be honored at the 2002
ROYAL Awards Dinner on November 20, 2002 at the Center
Club in Baltimore.
