President's Message - Spring 2006 MICA's 2006 Golf Outing Set for June 9; We Need YOU! Dear Fellow MICA Members, past members, and prospective members, Our annual Golf Outing on June 9th at Mount Pleasant Golf Course is fast approaching, and I would like to enlist the help of all MICA members to make it a truly successful and fun event. As you may know, this event is MICA's only fundraiser of the year. The proceeds from this outing, along with your membership dues, fund MICA's operations for the entire year, including our necessary legislative expenses. Therefore, we need all members to take an active role in insuring the success of the outing again this year. Please support this fundraising effort and help MICA with your sponsorship and your participation. This
year we are trying a new twist to our event - called a String
Scramble. In addition to the captain's choice (best ball) format,
we are issuing all of our teams 20 feet of string. The string
can be used after the best shot has been determined to MOVE the
ball. After moving the ball (no further than the remaining amount
of string), cut and discard string equal to the distance the ball
was moved. The strategy to use the string to aid your team score
will be exciting. Ties are broken based on the team with the MOST
string left after 18 holes! Active contractor members, I first ask that you purchase at least one foursome. Secondly, please contact your regular vendors and suppliers (whom you support all year with your purchases) and ask them to support your remodeling association during this event. They too can purchase a foursome, become the sponsor of one of our golfing "games", or they can buy an advertising sign to be displayed on one of the 18 holes during the round. Supplier members, I ask that you consider sponsoring one of the golfing "games" offered at the event (closest to the pin, etc.). Of course you can also purchase hole signs to advertise your company, or buy a golf foursome! Invite your contractor customers to a fun day and introduce them to MICA! All "game" sponsors are encouraged to have a representative at 'their' hole. Your staffer can greet all the golfers and pass out company/golf related giveaways in addition to administering the "game" you are sponsoring.
