Where
Did the Past Three Years Go?
As
we turn the Presidency of MICA over to Jim Molinelli, I will leave
you with a few thoughts.
The
2004 ROYAL Awards ceremony and dinner was a tremendous success.
The quality of the projects demonstrated the firm commitment that
MICA members have to providing Marylander's with the finest in
home improvement projects. As usual, the dinner and facility were
top-notch. I'd like to especially thank the homeowners who attended
the function - your support lends further credence to the MICA
members that you hired to complete your award-winning projects.
Trust is a huge factor in contracting with a home improvement
firm. By sticking with the trusted members of MICA, you will find
a pool of expert home improvement contractors who have demonstrated
their proficiency through references and awards for their successful
projects.
The
past three years have been a period of stabilization for MICA.
With the development of the www.marylandremodelers.com web site,
the association with Chesapeake Home magazine, the continued success
of the Annual Golf Outing, and the expert stewardship of The Joseph
E. Shaner Company, MICA has maintained membership and has continued
to develop new member benefits.
I
welcome the new MICA Executive Committee of Jim Molinelli (President),
Roger Blitz (Vice President), and Ross Ehudin (Sec'y./Treasurer).
Our committed Board of Directors will work in conjunction with
the Executive Committee to further develop programs and member
benefits. Our legislative liaison will continue to represent our
industry in Annapolis - a huge benefit to members and homeowners
alike. This talented group of volunteers will work to further
promote MICA as the trusted source for homeowners seeking quality
contractors, and will continue to present MICA as the Voice of
the Home Improvement Industry of Maryland.
I
support our new MICA leadership and I look forward to continuing
my long-standing relationship with the organization. To all members,
please remember the rallying cry of our new President, Jim Molinelli,
to bring in at least one new member this year. To all homeowners,
ask your licensed contractor to become a MICA member and maybe
your project will be included in next year's ROYAL program. After
all, this is a member-dependent organization that provides a huge
service to our industry.
Best
wishes for the upcoming year.
